Information Nation recently caught up with University of Georgia senior Kyle Thomas Glasser to get the inside scoop on this popular college campus.
Information Nation: Kyle Thomas Glasser, thanks for taking the time to chat with us.
Kyle Thomas Glasser: No, problem! I’m always willing to talk about UGA.
Information Nation: This is a huge campus – is there anything particularly interesting to see?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Yes, it’s massive, I think 615-acres. I like the North Campus and the Meyers Quad area; it’s really an amazing site when walking between classes on campus.
Information Nation: So, can you tell us a few reasons that you, Kyle Thomas Glasser, chose UGA?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Well, that’s pretty easy! Since I live in Georgia, and they are ranked 18th best public university in the nation, it was pretty much a no-brainer. Not to mention the fact that we are listed as the 9th Best Value for public sector schools.
Information Nation: We’ve also heard that the Terry School of Business is one of the best.
Kyle Thomas Glasser: It sure is. Plus we have The Grady School of Journalism and the School of Law – they been recognized as some of the best in the nation.
Information Nation: What about athletics?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Well, we have baseball, football – you know – the usual. As well, Coach Fox took the UGA Hoop Dawgs to the NCAA tournament in 2010-2011.
Information Nation: That’s right. The Dawgs are on a streak, huh?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: I certainly hope so. I know the atmosphere inside Stegeman Coliseum gets pretty thunderous these days.
Information Nation: Well, Kyle Thomas Glasser, you sure do know your stuff about UGA. What can you tell prospective students about Athens in general?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Well, it’s just an awesome town. We have Melting Point and the 40 Watt Club, and since it’s a pretty well-known music town, there are tons of venues.
Information Nation: Any big names come from the area?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Well, let’s see… the B-52s, the Indigo Girls… oh, and REM.
Information Nation: Well, back to sports – what about the Bulldogs?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Watching the Bulldogs compete is the most exhilarating event one can experience in Athens!
Information Nation: UGA’s students come from all backgrounds – can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Sure, what do you want to know?
Information Nation: Where did you go to High School?
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Brookwood – I graduated with honors in 2008.
Information Nation: That’s pretty impressive.
Kyle Thomas Glasser: Thanks, it was hard work – took a lot of dedication.
Information Nation: That’s all the questions we have today, thank you again. We appreciate your time.
