I think anytime you get on TV in front of your target audience, it’s a huge opportunity to really demonstrate a product. There is nothing like showing people how it’s done as opposed to just hoping they stumble into it and want you to find out about it.

David Gonzalos II, Founder & CEO, Impact Advanced Can

I could not have said it better myself. We appreciate you putting your trust in our team.

Number one, it’s the format. Traditionally in the nutraceutical field, or nutritional supplement field, it’s mostly done by search engine optimization, marketing in magazines and print—which is really what some consider a dying breed. It’s becoming less and less effective. This is something where you have a targeted focus group. We have a product that really fits and aligns well with those people. It’s something, I think, that is going to really catapult us to something where there is going to be that recognition of the product.

Anthony Lucchetto, Owner, 180BodyClinic.com

As pioneers in the branded entertainment industry, we definitely understand navigating uncharted territories. We appreciate your kind words and are always here if you need anything. Thank you, Anthony.

We haven’t done a lot of media that has been specific in television. Most of our media content is generally in print or generally it’s web-based. This is really kind of our first entre into television and direct-to-patient.

Michael Sullivan, VP Sales & Marketing, Avlon Pharmaceuticals

Having the ability to directly communicate with your audience offers you the chance to allow them to meet your product and gives an intimacy that print just cannot. We appreciate that this idea has helped build your brand.

The budget was a really tight budget for us. You guys worked with us to get the cost down somewhat. It was a difficult decision from a cost standpoint for us but after thinking about it pretty carefully we thought that the opportunity that was presented to us to share our message, this message that we wanted to get out to people, was too good to pass up.

Gary Ike, General Manager, Talco Fire Systems

Gary, we are so glad that we worked something out and that you had this opportunity. Please keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

The value for the cost for the distribution and the potential amount of viables that are going to see this technology—you just can’t compare that to other options out on the market today.

Our goal right now is to really get the Health Insurance Web name out there. Your audience matches our target of who we are looking for.

We also spoke with somebody else who was on the show and they gave us some good, positive feedback and some suggestions on how to go about promoting it on our own as well—which you had also provided some suggestions for that. I think that the background from the previous guests plus our initiative to brand Health Insurance Web with a target audience like yours is really what nailed it.

Lonie Murray, Marketing Manager, HealthInsuranceWeb.com

We cannot express how glad we are to hear that you based your decision to appear on the show on a recommendation. It is very difficult to earn that level of trust from former clients; I am happy to know that once the lights have dimmed and the cameras have faded that O2 Media™ and The Balancing Act® continue to remain in the spotlight. Thank you for your business and please contact me should you need further assistance.

Healthy Living from Brenda Lee Reed | Natural Weight Management

Brenda Lee Reed

Brenda Lee Reed

Genesis Healing Center Founder Brenda Lee Reed says that the math is simple: healthy foods + physical activity = balanced weight.

There are many factors, says Brenda Lee Reed, that determine an individual’s ability to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.  However, the basic key to natural weight management is maintaining a lifestyle that includes healthy foods and moderate exercise. Brenda Lee Reed reports that the oldest and most common formula is to balance the number of calories from food intake with the number of calories burned through exercise.  In other words, the input of energy must balance with the output, says Brenda Lee Reed.

To lose weight, a person must burn more calories through exercise than are taken in through food consumption, explains Brenda Lee Reed.  The idea is to eat less and exercise more.  Once the desired weight has been achieved, there must be a balance of energy consumed through food and energy burned though exercise and lifestyle in order to maintain a proper weight, says Brenda Lee Reed.

According to Brenda Lee Reed, an individual that sits at a desk all day will most likely need to add a daily or weekly exercise regime in order to meet their energy output; this as opposed to someone with a more physically demanding career.

It’s a matter of movement. The most important thing, says Brenda Lee Reed, is to move the body, whether walking, jogging, or simply doing floor stretches at home.  The body must move in order to burn calories and achieve the output of energy needed to compensate for food intake.  Those seeking to move their body more should find an activity they enjoy. This, explains Brenda Lee Reed, makes it more likely they will continue to exercise.

Brenda Lee Reed says that it is vital to choose foods that are rich in nutrition.  Fruits and vegetables are not only low in calories, they contain vitamins, minerals and disease-fighting benefits that the body needs to remain healthy.  Eating produce is a basic of weight loss and weight management because they are filled with fiber and water and, Brenda Lee Reed explains, make the body feel fuller.

A good way to gauge exactly how much better fruits and vegetables are is to lay out a handful of potato chips next to three whole cups of strawberries. Brenda Lee Reed notes that the larger portion of strawberries has fewer calories while providing a larger bulk of nutritive – and tasty – fare.

Aside from the nutritional health benefits, larger portions of produce can be eaten compared to processed products without adding empty calories to a diet.  And, as Brenda Lee Reed explains to guests a Genesis Healing Center, the juices from organically grown fruits and vegetables provide more nutrients that any store bought vitamin or supplement.

Brenda Lee Reed says that natural weight management is achieved through a healthy lifestyle that includes nutritional foods and moderate physical exercise.  And, she points out that anyone can make little changes to their daily life to help them achieve their goals.

Brenda Lee Reed is the owner and founder of Genesis Healing Center. She holds certification in numerous areas of holistic treatment and has over 30 years of experience as a nutritionist. For more information, visit www.genesishealingcenter.com

Jeffrey Kale Flagg Gives Straight Talk to Achievers

Jeffrey Kale Flagg is a Yale graduate who has worked on Wall Street, Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Orlando, Las Vegas, Honolulu and in Reno, Nevada, where he currently resides. It is through sheer ambition and skill that Jeffrey Kale Flagg has become the successful businessman he is today. Jeffrey Kale Flagg believes it’s important for people to be honest with themselves and own the role they play in their own success. Today, Jeffrey Kale Flagg talks to the staff of Interviewing Experts about what it takes to achieve one’s dreams.

Interviewing Experts: What role do we play in achieving our own dreams?

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: We are all in charge of whether or not we achieve our dreams. No one else. The moment of truth comes when someone has to face this fact and stop making excuses.

Interviewing Experts: You believe people obstruct themselves by judging their successes by what other people think, correct?

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: Yes. We tend to look for others to endorse our ideas, and this takes away our ability to control our own lives and achievements.

Interviewing Experts: How does it do that?

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: People will disagree; it’s a fact of life. When those people disagree, if we lack confidence, we may let that take us down.

Interviewing Experts: So basically, it’s all about having confidence.

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: Right! Confidence to follow your own vision no matter what others say. People who somehow find that confidence are the ones who have the most success.

Interviewing Experts: How does someone find that confidence?

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: The first step is making a commitment to be the captain of your own ship, of your own life and mind. This is crucial.

Interviewing Experts: You mean that I a choose whether or not to do that?

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: Sure. It’s a choice, just as everything in life is. Our choices determine the friends we have and the success we find in life.

Interviewing Experts: I’ve noticed a lot of people just want to complain.

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: This is one of the most frustrating things to me. People complain but never do anything about it.

Interviewing Experts: Some people try to do something but never can quite make it to the next level.

Jeffrey Kale Flagg: I’ve experienced that when I’ve tried to help people along their individual paths. The biggest problem is that some people simply aren’t willing to change. They’re listening to those outside voices too much and not trusting in themselves.

Jeffrey Kale Flagg is an entrepreneur and real estate investor who has led several companies to great success. Because his own mentors taught him how to achieve success, Jeffrey Kale Flagg recommends people find mentors and imitate their formula to find it as well. Jeffrey Kale Flagg lives in Reno with his wife and four children.

Donald Leon Farrow Discusses Assisting Animals

Donald Leon FarrowDonald Leon Farrow believes in giving back to the community. While his work as an architect keeps him busy, in his free time Donald Leon Farrow works as an animal rescue volunteer and animal welfare advocate.

In 2005, Donald Leon Farrow began contacting local animal welfare organizations to volunteer his services upon noticing many stray dogs in urban areas of Chicago, as he drove to his project sites. Donald Leon Farrow involved himself with both local and national animal welfare organizations and acknowledges that there are moments of jubilation, and moments of pain. Donald Leon Farrow also supports soup kitchens and food pantry’s financially, and has participated in urban garden projects. He hopes that through the efforts of many, the world will become more humanitarian. Donald Leon Farrow recently spoke with Interviewing Experts about the power of animals to change lives.

Interviewing Experts: Why did you choose this topic?

Donald Leon Farrow: I wanted to make sure the volunteer work I do is understood in the greater context of the enormous value that these animals bring to our lives.

Interviewing Experts: The organizations you support are at both local and national levels.

Donald Leon Farrow: That’s true. Some issues are simply too widespread to deal with solely on a local level, and there’s a difference. National causes such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or ASPCA, and the No Kill Advocacy Center for example; go beyond the welfare of individual animals to advocate for the rights of animals not to be abused, mistreated or tortured. Local animal rescue groups help individual animals in distress or those suffering from epidemic reasons say. Local and national groups are funded through contributions and volunteers.

Interviewing Experts: How have things changed in the time you’ve been working with these organizations?

Donald Leon Farrow: In recent years, economic disaster has instigated the number of neglected, abused and stray animals in the country. Volunteers and contributions make a difference in the work the organization has been able to do and allot more help is needed.

Interviewing Experts: How is this impacting organizations like the ASPCA and local shelters?

Donald Leon Farrow: With so many struggling just to survive after cuts in salary and job loss, people just don’t have as much money to give, so local and national organizations have had to expand their outreach for assistance.

Interviewing Experts: What do you to do address this?

Donald Leon Farrow: I always tell people that a contribution of as little as a dollar can make a difference, and their personal time as a volunteer would be a powerful resource.

Interviewing Experts: You’ve also served on several fundraising committees during your time.

Donald Leon Farrow: Yes, I participate in both volunteer and fundraising efforts.

Interviewing Experts: What would you say is the best part about volunteering with the local animal welfare organizations?

Donald Leon Farrow: The best part in volunteering is knowing that you are making a difference however small. There is jubilation and sorrow in this work – but it must be done from a humanitarian perspective. These animals give us so much acceptance and companionship, and they are absolutely helpless in this society. They cannot fend for themselves and there are virtually no effective laws to protect them.

Interviewing Experts: As you mark your eleventh year with these organizations, what are your future plans?

Donald Leon Farrow: I hope to continue this work for many years to come.

Donald Leon Farrow has built an impressive career of innovation and leadership in Architecture.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime with Laundry Buyer, Lori Wood and Refrigerator Buyer, Michael Burti from Sears

The following segment aired on The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television. Joining the show was Lori Wood and Michael Burti from Sears to discuss how to get the most for your money with appliance deals.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television Host Danielle Knox:  Stretching our dollar is a top priority these days, so ‘The Balancing Act’ on Lifetime Television has invited Lori Wood, Laundry Buyer, and Michael Burti, Refrigerator Buyer, both with Sears, to help us save some green on our next appliance purchase. ‘Show me the money’ is a mantra that a lot of Americans are chanting these days.  When shopping for appliances can we do well in both price and value? Is it possible to have both?

Wood:  Absolutely, value is different to every consumer and we offer over 3,600 appliances at Sears, so we really do have a value that’s meaningful to every consumer. No matter what their budge is, no matter what the size of their wallet is, we have great products at every price point, from the top of the line down to whatever price point the customer is interested in spending.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television: Times are tough for so those price points may be lower for many of us. Do we have to sacrifice performance for price?

Burti:  Absolutely not.  You don’t have to sacrifice performance.  You’re probably going to have to sacrifice some features if you’re on a budget, but that’s okay.  I think what it’s going to come down to is having to do a little bit more research ahead of time, really trying to understand what features you have to have and which features you can live without.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television: How important is it to do your research, especially in these economic times?

Burti:  Without a doubt, if it’s an appliance then you are going to be living with it for a long time. You want to make sure that you’re going to be satisfied with it and that it is going to meet all of your needs.  Definitely do the research ahead of time, making sure that if you’re on a budget that you are going to get all of the features that you expect to get out of the appliance.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television: It seems like every day a new energy-efficient appliance pops up.  More and more, people are thinking about this. More and more consumers are heading towards buying these kinds of products.

Wood: it’s a great way to go when you buy a new appliance and especially important because you will have it for a long time.  Today’s appliances are more energy-efficient than they have ever been.  In addition to saving water and saving energy which is so important, it saves you money so your utility bills are less.  The machines on the market today, like dishwashers use so much less water than before that they actually use less than if you washed dishes by hand.  And in a washing machine you can fit 25 bath towels in one load so you can do that many less loads of laundry.  They spin so fast that they take most of the moisture out of the clothes so you are also using your dryer for a lot less time.

Burti:  The appliance industry has come a long way and it’s really interesting to see all the things they’ve done to help save both water and energy.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television: I think the other important issue that a lot of us out there are worried about is the value.  Great value in important but the next question has to do with warranties and service.

Burti: A good thing about purchasing an appliance at Sears is the fact that we have our own service organization and when you make a purchase at Sears, your appliance is covered for a full year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, support on the phone and certainly if you need service, we have 10,000 trained technicians that are available 7 days a week for service.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television: How does Sears stack up to its competitors in terms of affordability and quality?

Wood:  We would like to tell you that we’re the leader in the industry as far as selection of appliances overall, especially as far as selection of energy star appliances.  And with the service organization that we just told you about, we can give you service and assurance with our price match that no one else can do.  You can go to sears.com for more information.

The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television is the only morning show in America produced by women specifically for women. Philip Melugin Talks About Pheasant Run Ranch

Philip Melugin is owner and president of Phoenix Home Care, a home healthcare organization that services clients in Missouri and Kansas. But home healthcare isn’t the only way Philip Melugin is combining his passion with business. Melugin owns and runs Pheasant Run Ranch, which features 5,000 sprawling acres of wild bird hunting in Kansas. Today, Philip Melugin talks to Interviewing Experts about the ranch.

Interviewing Experts: We’ve seen photos of Pheasant Run Ranch. It looks beautiful.

Philip Melugin: It’s my home away from home. 5,000 acres of beautiful green grass and wildlife.

Interviewing Experts: Explain a little about the hunts available at Pheasant Run.

Philip Melugin: We have a variety of wild birds, including turkey, pheasant, and quail. Our staff works hard to create an environment that keeps birds on our land, rather than migrating elsewhere. Our bird hunters can opt for a guided hunt and we also include accommodations for those wishing to spend the night to be well-rested for hunting.

Interviewing Experts: What about deer hunting?

Philip Melugin: We currently have whitetail deer. Whitetail deer hunting season kicks up in the fall and lasts into early winter, so we have quite a crowd at the lodge that time of year.

Interviewing Experts: Does someone have to have a hunting license to participate in hunts at Pheasant Run Ranch?

Philip Melugin: Yes, a hunting license is required. Residents can choose between one-time licenses, annual hunting licenses, and lifetime hunting licenses. Licenses are available through the Kansas Department of Wildlife at www.kdwp.state.ks.us.

Interviewing Experts: If someone wants to participate in a hunt at Pheasant Run, how do they sign up?

Philip Melugin: There are dates currently available, but I recommend anyone interested in coming to Pheasant Run make reservations now. You can call 785-476-5736 or sign up for hunts via e-mail at hunt@pheasantrunranch.net.

Interviewing Experts: Can reservations be made through that phone number and e-mail address, as well?

Philip Melugin: Yes. When you call or e-mail to schedule a hunt, just let us know that you’re interested in accommodations, as well. Even for those who aren’t staying the night, though, you’ll have access to our newly renovated main lodge, with internet access and satellite TV, if you want to relax throughout the day.

A longtime healthcare administrator, Philip Melugin runs Phoenix Home Care, a home healthcare business that serves both Missouri and Kansas. Recently, Phoenix Home Care opened an office in Wichita and now serves several areas of the state. For more information, visit phoenixhomehc.com

Direct Media Power, Inc. Slashes Advertising Budgets While Maximizing Profits

Nationally recognized media marketing firm Direct Media Power says radio provides cost savings for lead-driven businesses across the country. Today, the experts at Direct Media Power  offer tips on how to walk all over the competition while operating on a shoestring budget.

Interviewing Experts: Good morning and thank you for speaking with us today. To begin, can you tell us what Direct Media Power does?

Direct Media Power: We are a pay per call marketing and media agency. Essentially, we allow our clients to only pay for the calls their commercials generate.

Interviewing Experts: How does that benefit your customers versus just paying per commercial?

Direct Media Power: Our clients do not have to foot the bill to have their commercial written or produced, for one. Additionally, since we buy airspace in bulk, we can run spots more frequently and on more stations.  In addition, paying on a “per call basis” allows our clients to lock in their advertising expense.

Interviewing Experts: Which broadens their audience… But, why assume the costs for this? How do you know that your client is going to be successful and actually receive these calls?

Direct Media Power: We start with cash testing. This initial phase costs our clients as little as a few thousand dollars and we will gauge an expected number of calls based off this trial.

Interviewing Experts: What does Direct Media Power do to ensure your clients’ media offers a return of their investment?

Direct Media Power: We are very thorough and upfront during the testing phase. If the market isn’t there, the client will know. But, once a cash test has proven fruitful, we offer our partners a guaranteed return on their media placement.

Interviewing Experts: That’s a pretty nice promise. It sounds like Direct Media Power is a no risk way to advertise.

Direct Media Power: We consistently deliver results, yes, and we do this by advertising on radio the right way and by offering our clients the best service possible.

Interviewing Experts: What kind of advantage does radio have over the Internet for advertising?

Direct Media Power: Organic internet search is great, but most clients that are looking to grow can not count on non-paid search and with paid search it is extremely risking with no guarantee that clicks will turn into actual leads and/or sales.  In addition, it’s no secret that the internet affiliate marketing industry is loaded with fraud and if you are not careful you can easily accumulate thousands of dollars in alleged leads that never amount to any type of actual business.

Interviewing Experts: But can’t consumers just turn the radio off or change the station?

Direct Media Power: Yes, they could. But, studies have shown that most people just carry on through the commercials for a number of reasons, such as they enjoy the host or there is not another station in the same genre available.

Interviewing Experts: So, businesses advertising this way really can gain an advantage over their competition?

Direct Media Power: We see it happen every day.

Interviewing Experts: We appreciate your time today. Thank you.

Direct Media Power: You’re welcome.

Direct Media Power, Inc. is a Chicago based pay per call marketing firm who partners with their clients to ensure a profitable campaign. Since the agency assumes a high level of financial interest in creating and promoting their clients’ commercial appeal, Direct Media Power ’s affectivity in their clients’ success is paramount to their own.

Paul Savramis on Teaching Basketball in Europe

Paul Savramis spent 1996-2004 teaching basketball skills and as a motivational speaker in Europe. The founder of both Eastern Invitational and Rising Stars basketball camps, Paul Savramis saw his work in Europe as the next challenge in his career. But what Paul Savramis didn’t expect as he traveled across the sea was how rewarding his participation in these camps would be.

Interviewing Experts: In 1996, you made your first trip to Europe. Explain the work you were doing there.

Paul Savramis: I was participating in the Swiss Allstar Basketball Camp, which is Europe’s biggest basketball camp.

Interviewing Experts: Sounds exciting.

Paul Savramis: The entire process was really unique. The attendees represented a diverse group of young people from throughout the world.

Interviewing Experts: With so many participants speaking so many different languages, it must have been difficult.

Paul Savramis: Participants are divided into groups, depending on age and level of expertise in basketball. The official camp languages can be English, German, French, or Italian.

Interviewing Experts: Were translators available to help those who didn’t speak English?

Paul Savramis: Yes, at every event we had translators, but all of the participants spoke one universal language: basketball. In many cases, very little translation was necessary.

Interviewing Experts: The participants were likely able to watch coaches demonstrate what needed to be done.

Paul Savramis: Yes, and many of the participants knew enough about basketball that it just naturally flowed. We also had kids with us from America –The NIKE Whiz Kids –that put on performances of dribbling and shooting.

Interviewing Experts: The Swiss Allstar Basketball Camp seems to follow similar principles as the basketball camps you’ve founded.

Paul Savramis: Yes, at the European camp, as well as at my camps in the States, the emphasis was always on fun-damentals (emphasis on fun). They also stressed that anything is possible with desire and hard work. That positive message and other motivational themes carried over from each of our programs to the other.

Interviewing Experts: The games were still competitive, though.

Paul Savramis: The spirit of competition is always alive and well in all of the activities in a basketball camp regardless of origin. But we also work hard to instill and to reinforce the values of teamwork and cooperation in each participant.

Interviewing Experts: The game of basketball seems to be a way to work as a bonding interest for many of these participants.

Paul Savramis: Yes, when you take a step back and look at it, these camps are all about bringing people with this one major shared interest together, although they often find that they have other interests in common once camp begins.

With more than thirty years of experience running basketball camps, Paul Savramis has personally witnessed the long-term effects of competitive sports at a young age. Paul Savramis received his Master’s degree in physical education from Queens College. Following graduation, Paul Savramis founded Eastern Invitational Basketball Camp, an interactive learning experience for all involved. Paul Savramis is also the founder of Rising Stars, a highly respected basketball camp in New York.
